The Municipality of Cortina d’Ampezzo, in collaboration with the Cooperative of Cortina, has decided to promote the "suspended spending" initiative to give concrete help to Ukrainian families present and hosted in the municipal area.

This initiative follows the tradition of the so-called ‘caffè sospeso’, a cup of coffee paid for by a customer in advance as an anonymous act of charity towards a perfect stranger. That’s why it’s been called ‘spesa sospesa’ (Italian for suspended shopping). This way Ukranian families in need can get fruit, vegetables, flour, cheeses, salami and other quality products such as clothes.

Those who wish can contact the Customer Office of the Cortina Cooperative, on the first floor, and make their donation (they will obviously receive a receipt confirming the amount donated).

The Cooperative will add 10%, for any amount it will be donated, and will issue "shopping vouchers" that can be used at all departments of the Cooperative and at Eurospin for the purchase of food and clothing.

The vouchers donated by citizens and collected by the Cortina Cooperative will then be delivered to the Municipality of Cortina d'Ampezzo which, through the Social Services Office, will distribute them to Ukrainian families as needed.

The Administration thanks the Cooperative of Cortina for always being available to support our projects.
