The characteristic wooden structure and the suggestive location on the road towards the Falzarego pass make it a work well integrated into the mountain environment. It was created on the initiative of the National Alpine Association (ANA) - Cortina d'Ampezzo Group, which wanted to dedicate it to all the soldiers of Europe who died during the last wars. The owner of the Church is the Madonna delle Tofane: a valuable statue of Our Lady of Sorrows recalls how the pain that the Mother of God poured out at the foot of the cross on the mangled body of Christ extends to all those who have fallen under the violence of history.
