Description
Few memories remain, however, of the seventeenth-century architectural structure of this chapel which was completely rebuilt in 1839. Upon entering, one was immediately attracted by the only wooden altar of Venetian production, dated 1663, located on the back wall: it is small in size and decorated with statues in the round of S. Antonio Abate and S. Giovanni Battista, venerated as protectors of domestic animals, and from a canvas depicting S. Andrea between the Saints Silvestri I Pope and Anthony of Padua collected in the presence of the Madonna and Child. On the right wall of the small presbytery, there is also a late seventeenth-century canvas depicting St. Andrew with the characteristic cross, symbol of his martyrdom. The visit is completed with a look at the fresco on the ceiling of the nave depicting the martyrdom of Saint Andrew, made by Dino Degasper of Ampezzo in 1934.
The annual holiday occurs on November 30th.
